Equipment

  • 1 Blender
  • 1 Fine sieve (optional)
  • 1 Large pitcher

Ingredients

  • 4 large peaches pitted and sliced; fresh or thawed frozen
  • 1 cup lemon juice freshly squeezed (about 5-6 lemons)
  • 0.75 cup sugar or honey, to taste
  • 4 cups cold water
  • ice cubes for serving
  • fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Make the Peach Puree

  • Add the sliced peaches and sugar to a blender. Blend until very smooth. If you like, strain the puree through a fine sieve for an extra silky texture, but this is optional.

Mix the Lemonade

  • In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice and peach puree. Stir in the cold water and mix until well blended. Taste, and adjust the sweetness by adding more sugar or honey as needed.

Chill and Serve

  • Refrigerate the lemonade for at least one hour so the flavors can meld. Serve over plenty of ice, and garnish with mint leaves for a fresh pop if you like.

Notes

Store extra lemonade in an airtight container or pitcher in the fridge for up to 3 days. Stir well before serving as the peach puree might settle. Serve over fresh ice. This beverage is best enjoyed chilled and does not need reheating.
Tips: Use the ripest peaches you can find for maximum flavor. Roll your lemons to get the most juice. For a smoother drink, strain the peach puree before mixing. Variations: Make it sparkling by swapping half the water for club soda; add raspberries for a pink twist; infuse with ginger by adding slices to the pitcher when chilling.
