Ingredients
  

  • 6 cups peaches fresh sliced, or canned/thawed frozen peaches, drained well
  • 1 cup sugar plus a little extra for the topping
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk whole milk preferred
  • 0.5 cup butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon optional
  • 1 teaspoon alcohol-free vanilla

Instructions
 

  • Heat the oven and lightly butter your baking dish.
  • Combine the peaches with sugar and cinnamon, then spread them into the dish.
  • Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, milk, melted butter, and alcohol-free vanilla until smooth.
  • Pour the batter over the peaches without stirring.
  • Bake until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling around the edges. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat individual portions in the microwave, or warm the whole dish in the oven until heated through. If you want to crisp the topping a little, reheat it uncovered for a few minutes in the oven.
