Easy Honey Butter Chicken Bites For Holiday Potlucks

Honey Butter Chicken Bites

These honey butter chicken bites are the kind of easy party food I love bringing to holiday potlucks, because they disappear fast and always feel a little special. They are sweet, buttery, and savory all at once, with a glossy sauce that clings to every tender bite.

Equipment

  • 1 Large Skillet

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds chicken breast or boneless chicken thighs cut into bite-size pieces
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour or cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ⅓ cup honey
  • ¼ cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • Red pepper flakes optional
  • Chopped parsley for serving

Instructions

  • Pat the chicken dry, then season it with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Lightly coat the pieces in flour or cornstarch so they brown nicely in the pan.
  • Heat butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken in a single layer and cook, turning as needed, until the pieces are golden and cooked through.
  • Lower the heat and add a little more butter, then stir in the garlic. Pour in the honey, chicken broth, and apple cider vinegar, and simmer until the sauce looks glossy and slightly thickened.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet and toss gently until every piece is coated in the honey butter sauce. Let it cook for another minute so the flavor really settles in.
  • Sprinkle with parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in a skillet over low heat with a splash of broth, or warm in the microwave in short intervals until heated through.
