Equipment

  • 1 Baking Dish
  • 1 Small bowl
  • 1 Whisk

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken thighs or chicken breasts cut into pieces if needed
  • 4 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 4 cup honey
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce or tamari for gluten-free
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper or to taste
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch optional, for a thicker sauce
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley optional, for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F and lightly grease a baking dish.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, honey, garlic, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. If you want a thicker glaze, stir in a little cornstarch.
  • Place the chicken in the baking dish in a single layer. Pour the honey butter sauce over the top and turn the pieces gently so they are well coated.
  • Bake uncovered until the chicken is tender and fully cooked, basting once or twice with the sauce during baking if you like extra glaze.
  • Let the chicken rest for a few minutes, then spoon the pan sauce over the top and garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

Use chicken pieces that are similar in size so they cook at the same rate. If the sauce starts to brown too quickly, loosely cover the dish with foil near the end of baking. For the best flavor, give the baked chicken a final spoonful of pan sauce right before serving.
