1 cup fresh red grapes, washed and divided into small clusters
1/2 cup dried apricots or dried figs
1/2 cup raw walnuts or pecans
1/4 cup pitted green olives
1 box assorted crackers including multigrain and butter varieties
2 tablespoons honey mixed with a drop of alcohol-free vanilla
Fresh rosemary sprigs for garnish
Instructions
Select a large wooden cutting board, a slate slab, or a festive ceramic tray to serve as your canvas. Make sure the surface is clean and dry before you begin arranging your items. If you are worried about cleanup, you can lay down a piece of parchment paper cut to fit the shape of the board.
Start by placing your small bowls on the board first. These will hold the olives and the honey mixture. Placing these items in diagonal corners or slightly off-center helps create a balanced look and provides structure for the rest of the ingredients to lean against.
Place the brie wheel in a prominent spot and scatter the cheddar cubes in a separate area. Next, take your smoked turkey rolls and nestle them near the cheeses. Grouping these heavier items together early on ensures they are easily accessible and sets the tone for the platter’s layout.
Arrange the clusters of red grapes and the dried apricots around the cheese and meat. Follow this by fanning out the various crackers in different sections of the board. I like to create a winding path of crackers to lead the eye across the display, making it look abundant and inviting.
Use the walnuts and green olives to fill in any remaining small empty spaces on the tray. Finally, tuck in a few sprigs of fresh rosemary between the items to add a pop of festive green and a wonderful herbal aroma. Drizzle the honey and alcohol-free vanilla mixture over the brie just before serving for an extra touch of sweetness.
